Our Water Planet - Earth

Earth is the only planet known to support life as we know it and to have liquid water at the surface.

In fact, about 70% of the Earth is covered with water, and 97% of that is part of the oceans which are salty. Only a small part of the Earth's water is freshwater which is found in rivers, lakes, and groundwater. Freshwater is needed for drinking and farming among other things.

Water exists in its ice form at the North and South Poles where temperatures remain frigid.

The Earth is a beautiful blue and white looking marble when seen from outer space. It is the third planet from our Sun.
